Beyond the Bin are specialists in event waste, with technical expertise in compostable packaging (including PFAS) and reusable packaging systems, based in Tauranga, New Zealand. We have worked with hundreds of organisations and events, to reduce waste to landfill and overall costs for waste. We have worked with huge NZ events such as WOMAD and Fieldays as well as smaller community markets and even sporting events like the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon series.

Whether you need our help at an event to:

  • be the physical resource you need on the ground,
  • help you devise a practical best-in-practice approach for your event,
  • or train up existing or new resource.

Or, if you’re wanting advice on compostable packaging or reusable packaging systems, we can help.

We also deliver workshops to event organisers and on-the-ground workers to train best-practice waste sorting and minimisation. These can be in-person or remote.

We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to finding solutions for packaging and waste.  We would be happy to have a complimentary chat with you to see if we can help.

I want to talk but I don't need help with events or packaging...

We would love to talk! We have worked with many non-event businesses and organisations to provide advice and support: solve problems. We do love working on the ground or in-person, but a lot can be done remotely or behind a desk.

Here are our existing additional services:

  • Project management, co-ordination or facilitation
  • Working/steering group facilitation
  • Speaking and mc-ing

Pluspac Packaging

I had the opportunity to work with Kim while she was the Chair of the Mount Business Association. Her governance, strategic thinking and vision, paired with her drive to see projects completed was an asset to the association in a time of rebuild post Covid.

She has a natural flare for leadership, stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.

Claudia West

The Project Collective

Completing a workshop with Beyond the Bin left me enthused and more confident about taking responsibility for the waste we generate at our events.  The workshop gave me a better understanding of our local waste facilities capabilities and exactly what happens ‘Beyond the Bin’.  The information was presented in a way that was both easy to grasp and enjoyable.
